The inventory of goods belonging to Miniato di Piero Speziale, for the benefit of his sons Benedetto Piero and Niccolai was composed on June 18, 1390. Among his assets were 4 barrels of sugar, two large, one old, and one undifferentiated (f. 329v-330v). Sugar was not a common staple in most inventories.
