Amédée de Crescherel and Antoine
Raverii, commissioners appointed by the Duke of Savoy Amadeus VIII, draw up an
inventory of the objects found in the castle of Pinerolo (western Piedmont),
which came under the rule of the ducal branch of Savoy after the death of the
last Prince of Savoy-Achaea (December 1418). The structure of the
inventory follows the spatial organization of the castle (chapel, kitchen,
wardrobe...); the items found in some adjacent buildings are also described. At
the same time as this inventory was drawn up, some commissioners of the Duke of
Savoy were also ordered to inspect the documentation contained in the
"crota" of the castle of Pinerolo, which served as the main archive
of the dynasty of Savoy-Achaea. The two commissioners were also ordered to
provide an inventory of the castle of Moncalieri.
